More details from this year’s Remembrance Sunday Ceremony in Worthing
At 11 am, Worthing’s Ukrainian community joined the memorial, laid a wreath, and invited attendees after the ceremony to honour British Defenders lost in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Following tradition, members of the community and the post author planted wooden crosses on the Field of Remembrance, the lawn near Worthing Town Hall, for each British Defender who died in Ukraine.
Sadly, this year, there are more crosses.

In 2024, I planted the cross for British Defender Andrew Bagshaw, and one of my Ukrainian friends planted the cross for British Defender Peter Fouché.
My Tribute to Peter
You came like a beacon of light,
With unwavering humanity, you saved us.
To hell we went in the night,
At your station we lived.
