Holocaust Memorial Tree in Worthing

27 January 2026 marks the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
Every year on 27 January, this internationally recognised service honours the millions of Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust, as well as the millions of others who perished under Nazi persecution and in more recent genocides.

Next Tuesday, we’ll gather to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day and affirm our commitment to opposing all forms of prejudice, racism, and discrimination.
This internationally recognised service is held each year on 27 January to remember the millions of Jews murdered during the Holocaust, as well as others killed under Nazi persecution and in more recent genocides.
The service will be held at the ‘Tree of Life’ [the Holocaust Memorial Tree] at the southern end of Beach House Park, beginning at 9.45 a.m. The event is open to all, and members of the public are warmly invited to attend.
The Mayor of Worthing, Councillor Cathy Glynn-Davies, will attend with representatives of the local Jewish community. The ceremony will feature a commemorative wreath-laying, as well as brief reflections, prayers, and readings.
