Remembrance Sunday in Worthing, UK – Cross Planted on the Field of Remembrance
At the Remembrance Day ceremony held in Worthing, UK, on 10 November 2024, local Ukrainian refugees honoured the British Defenders who have died in Ukraine by planting crosses. Among them was one remembering combat medic Pete in Ukraine.
It is with a heavy heart that I have had to write this post.
British combat medic Pete in Ukraine fell on the battlefield on 27 June 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy.
Peter Fouché, call sign “Hasta La Vista”, who had dual British and South African nationality, had volunteered with Ukraine’s Armed Forces since March 2022. In November 2023, he officially enlisted with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Source: texty.org.ua.
Pete was the founder of the frontline casevac group, Project Konstantin, and served as its director until his death.

Spreading of Peter Fouché’s Ashes at the Sviatohirsk Monument
On 9th July 2024, Greg Terry, Zhenia, Rick The Ukrainian, and Andy Mercado took part in spreading Pete’s ashes at the Sviatohirsk Monument in Donetsk.
Pete’s mother, Rose, had asked that part of Pete’s ashes be spread very close to the location of Pete’s death in Sviatohirsk.
Many of Pete’s friends and colleagues from the Armed Forces of Ukraine participated in the ceremony.

Memorial Service for Combat Medic Pete in Kyiv
The memorial service celebrating Pete’s life was at 10:45 am (Kyiv time) on Saturday, 6 July at Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv. Kyiv is 2 hours ahead of UK time. Greg Terry provided us with a comprehensive timeline of events in the video below, as well as a detailed chronology of events since Pete’s death. Parts of the celebrations were livestreamed by Greg. The primary source of livestreams is on Greg Terry’s YouTube channel.

Pete’s life’s work was underpinned by his Christian faith, which guided his tireless efforts to save the lives of over 200 wounded soldiers on the front lines of Ukraine.

My Virtual Introduction to Pete
I first learned about combat medic Pete in Ukraine through the Greg Terry Experience YouTube channel. In March 2024, Greg Terry and Professor Gerdes Explains launched a YouTube appeal to fund armoured evacuation ambulances for frontline combat medics in Ukraine. Pete’s casevac group, Project Konstantin, is set to receive two of these ambulances. Pete made a significant contribution by recording videos for this campaign. The video below is one of Pete’s heartfelt appeals.
