
New Beginnings is a free 10-week course that will help you with recovery after a broken relationship.
The course runs annually at St. Paul’s Church, Howell Hill in Cheam, Surrey.

All are welcome
Anyone who has experienced a broken relationship is welcome. The course offers support for every stage of separation, from early uncertainty to ongoing concerns. Participants may be previously married or not, and all benefit from a welcoming environment focused on new beginnings.
When does the next course start?
This free course meets at St. Paul’s for ten consecutive Thursday evenings, 7:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
The next course starts Thursday, 25 September 2025.
How does the course work?
Each evening includes a speaker, meal*, and small group discussion. Participation is optional. The course is based on Christian principles but is not religious. Sessions are friendly, lively, and supportive, despite the complex topics discussed.
*Dietary requirements are catered for.

Take the first step to recovery after a broken relationship
Although many people find it difficult to attend the first evening, once they do, they look forward to it and by the conclusion of the course, they have developed truly close friendships.
Many people from previous sessions have returned to help out and retake the course.

I attended this recovery course twice in 2011 and 2012. New Beginnings was a lifesaver for me.

Although I moved away from Surrey many years ago, I am in regular contact with friends made during my time at New Beginnings.
As mentioned above, the course is based on Christian principles, but no prayers are said, the church’s clergy do not attend, and no attempt is made to publicise any aspect of the church during the course.

St. Paul’s offers another free course, Exploring Anxiety & Depression, which will commence on Wednesday, 24 September 2025. This course will be on 10 consecutive Wednesdays.
